IE9:  Open Homepage in New Tab
I'm not exactly sure where to ask this question so i'm putting it in this forum category. Correct me if i'm wrong. Question: When opening a link on my desktop, and then clicking to open a new tab, rather than open my homepage (ie. bing.com) it duplicates the link that i had opened from my desktop. How do i prevent this? I want all new tabs to open bing.com. I notice that the back/forward buttons have changed color when i open a link from my desktop or favorites, from blue, to some other random color. I hate this feature. haha

Go to Control Panel > Internet Options. On the General tab, close to the bottom, is a "Tabs" category. Click on the Settings button. Uncheck "Open only the first home page when Internet Explorer starts." Below that is a dropdown for "When a new tab is opened, open:". Assuming that Bing is your home page, select "Your first home page" from that dropdown to have each tab open to Bing. SC Tom

Nope, that did not work. I did the following exactly: Uncheck "open only the first home page when internet explorer starts" choose "your first homepage", in dropdown. When i open a link from either my desktop or favorites, when i click to open a new tab, it duplicates the tab instead of opening www.bing.com
